A Corner of My Home: Easter is in the House.

Easter is coming up, and the chickens know it. Why else would they lay such colorful eggs? These green, brown, orange and pink ones are the gifts of the Bay Natives hens, and they are as colorful on the inside as they are on the outside. The yolks are a deep yellow and deliver an abundance of flavor to the morning scramble.

French rock candies from The Candy Store on Vallejo Street are a fun alternative to the usual jellybeans. The largest ones are chocolate covered apricots, the slightly smaller ones have almond paste inside and the little ones are chocolate thru and thru. In France, even the Easter Bunny knows how to make it fancy.
