From Denmark with Love: Kinfolk’s New Copenhagen Office.

Last year, Kinfolk Magazine moved their office from Portland to Copenhagen, and hired Norm Architects to create an efficient, elegant, and minimalist space that mirrors the look of the Kinfolk magazines and books perfectly.

New: Summer in the Hamptons for The Line.

The Line just opened its third store, or should I say apartment, and this time they moved out to Amagansett for the summer. They’re sticking to their unique concept of filling a home with an inspiring selection of high-end furniture, home accents, clothing, and accessories, and putting it all up for sale.

On the Job: Step into My Office!

We did it! We finished the update of our design studio. When we got our new office in Potrero Hill, Lotta Coffey Design & Interiors moved in with a landscape design firm that already had been in the space for several years. We devised a new layout that worked for everybody, but soon realized the office needed an update to function well

Most Wanted: A New House.

We’ve outgrown our house, and we’ve been looking for a new one since May last year, without any luck. The real estate prices here in San Francisco are insane, but even if we were able to disregard the hefty price tags for a minute, we haven’t even been able to find a house we’d like to live in.

Happenstance: A Swedish Lady Walked into a Framing Shop

City Picture Frame is one of the best framing shops in town. When I went there the other day, to figure out a frame for an oil painting, I spotted an amazing gallery wall full of (mostly) black and white art. It turned out all the pieces on the wall were made by the same artist, John Mayberry, who has his studio in the building.

Friday Flowers: A Whole Lotta Love

Roses for Valentines. Need I say more? Wishing you all a whole lotta love, from Lotta Coffey Design & Interiors. Photo: Charlotte Coffey

Seasonal Feast: 72% Cacao, 100% Love

This post has very little to do with interior design, but the topic is still very close to my heart; chocolate. This year for Valentines, instead of the usual box of chocolates, put together a medley of your (or your loved one’s) favorite chocolate bars and wrap it all up with a red silk ribbon.

Field Trip: The White, Serene Office of Everlane

Three blocks down Folsom Street from Lotta Coffey Design & Interiors, is the simple and calming office of the clothing brand, Everlane. Last week, I took a stroll with the camera around my neck, to take a closer look.   A minimalist idea Everlane was started by Michael Preysman in 2011, in search of the perfect t-shirt.

From Sweden with Love: Instant Spring Cleaning!

For sale right now, by Eklund Stockholm New York, is an almost all white apartment on Odengatan in Stockholm. Wood and leather details, as well as plants, and brass accents, add warmth to an otherwise super simple and stark living space.

A Corner of My Home: Airing My Dirty Laundry

Most of the time, in most parts of my house, I practice what I preach, and keep things tidy and uncluttered. But when one of the laundry hampers fell apart a few weeks ago, I realized that the laundry room was sadly neglected and in need of attention.

On a Shoestring: The $0 Home Update

A lot of us are still licking our wounds after the holiday splurge. But at the same time, we want to upgrade and start the new year fresh. Here is how can you eat that cake and have it too.   Let it go There’s no better way to upgrade your space than to purge.

Most Wanted: I’m Dreaming of a White Wish List

I know it’s kind of last minute. But Santa, I’ve been veeery good this year.     Shell Chair by Hans J. Wegner with white leather. I want you! Amaryllis. My favorite holiday flower. Sudo earbuds. Comes with this clever little pouch to avoid tangles. Lyngby vase.
