Travels: Vacation Inspiration

Two of my Swedish childhood friends are here for a visit and we decided to take a quick trip to Sonoma for some sun, food, wine, relaxation and, as it turns out, some interior inspiration.

When we walked into the El Dorado Hotel on the Sonoma town square, the first thing that struck me was the oversized basket weave ceiling lighting. The matching, rectangular version above the large table in the dining room did not disappoint either.

And while the morning omelette with chevre, spinach and mushroom stole most of my attention at breakfast, I was enjoying the black and white color scheme in the cafe almost as much. The clever coat hook solution in the corner of the breakfast cafe, below the vintage mirrors, is also one to remember – mis-matched vintage door knobs!

At checked out, I learned they will be remodeling the lounge area and front desk in February of 2016. Sounds like the perfect excuse for a Sonoma trip in the spring! Who’s coming with me?
